Mrs. Jennie IRONS age 76 passed away at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis Sunday morning at 9:15 o'clock. Death was caused from complication resulting from a knee infection and followed an illness of two weeks. Mrs. Irons was born July 30, 1866 at Mitchell, the daughter of Captain RR and Rebecca Clard Stewart. At the age of 18, she taught school in the vicinity of Darlington and on Oct 28, 1894 she was married to Elmer A. Irons who passed away in 1935. She was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church and was active in Church affairs. The Irons family lived on a farm near Waveland for several years. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Roscoe Fruits of Ladoga and Mrs. Olive Rice of Indianapolis; a son Robert Carl Irons of Madison, WI and six grandchildren. Short funeral rites were held at the home of Mrs. Olive Rice in Indianapolis Wednesday morning and the main service was conducted in the Waveland Methodist Church that afternoon. Rev. Guy E. Tremaine of Waynetown who delivered the funeral sermon was assisted by the Rev. Lawrence Greene of North Judson, who read the scripture; Rev. HA Pierson who read the obituary and Rev. CN McBrayer who offered prayer. Interment was in the Waynetown Cemetery. - kbz
